Public Sector HR Team of the Year Award
Supporting the people who deliver public services.
About this category
This award recognises an HR team in local or central government, the NHS, education, policing, housing or the charity sector whose work has helped its workforce deliver better services. Judges look for results, value for money and the challenges overcome.
Eligibility
- Open to HR teams in public sector
- Not for profit and charitable organisations
Judging criteria
- Results for the workforce and services
- Value for money
- Change delivered
- Partnership with unions
- Inclusion
Qualitative criteria
People work that improves public services.
Metrics
- Vacancy and turnover rates
- Absence
- Engagement
- Cost and service outcomes
Additional criteria
Entries should include a concise case study of the HR work, supporting figures such as engagement, retention, absence, capability or cost, and, where possible, comments from leaders, managers or employees. Never include names or any detail that could identify an individual employee, especially in employee relations, wellbeing or casework examples: describe cases in anonymised terms and give results as percentages or ranges. Nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Judges consider the size of the organisation and the HR team, so a one person HR function competes on equal terms with a large people directorate.
